Come join us for our grand opening weekend! We will have an event every day and a few ongoing activities. We’ll also have some light refreshments!
There will be an area to take a silly selfie with some fun photo props AND a book raffle that you can enter just by coming into the bookshop opening a weekend!
Celebrate our grand opening weekend with a number of local authors. Schedule is below and we'll have an appearance by Diana Abu-Jaber sometime during the day, author of Life Without A Recipe, Birds of Paradise, The Language of Baklava, and Crescent.
SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
Stevan Allred @1pm
Author of A Simplified Map of the Real World
In A Simplified Map of the Real World, intimate boundaries are loosened by divorce and death in a rural community where even an old pickle crock has an unsettling history--and high above the strife and the hope and the often hilarious, geese seek the perfect tailwind. Stevan Allred's stunning debut deftly navigates the stubborn geography of the human heart.
Nathaniel Barber @3pm
Author of Luck Favors the Prepared, a collection of short stories.
Francesca Varela
Signing @4pm & Reading 5:30pm
Francesca G. Varela was raised in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. In 2015 she graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in Environmental Studies and Creative Writing, and she then went on to receive her master’s degree in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah.
Francesca’s dream of becoming an author began in third grade, and her writing career had an early start; she wrote her award-winning first novel, Call of the Sun Child, when she was only 18 years old, and she wrote her second novel, Listen, when she was only 20. The Seas of Distant Stars is her latest novel and is a riveting piece of science fiction!
