Portland, OR–Portland Columbia Symphony has announced this year’s virtual gala, Up, Up and Away. On the evening of Saturday, February 19, PCSO applauds how far the orchestra has come with a night of music, celebration, and an exciting raffle. Hosted live at the Redd on Salmon and broadcast digitally, crowd favorite, Andrew McMasters, emcees the night. Featuring inspiring stories from PCSO’s musicians, performances from the orchestra, and a chance to win sensational prizes, PCSO hopes to blow 2021’s fundraising record out of the water. A free RSVP enters participants into a fun raffle, while raffle tickets for three packages, to be announced, go on sale Wednesday, February 16.

Throughout the pandemic, PCSO has doubled down on its mission to bring music to communities across the Portland metro-area and beyond. From digital content like Meet the Instruments for children and families, to livestream concerts and outdoor performances in local parks, PCSO was resilient and creative. This year’s virtual gala offers opportunities to ensure the orchestra’s sustainability and support its musicians including a raffle, paddle raise, and more.

The event is sponsored by All Classical Portland, First Republic Bank, Moss Adams, Providence, OnPoint Community Credit Union, and Williams Kastner.

Founded in 1982, Portland Columbia Symphony cultivates and champions a diverse community of musicians and audiences through affordable and accessible performances. Under the music direction of Steven Byess, PCSO seeks to deepen connections to the art form through the design of culturally and locally relevant programming, an inclusive narrative, and educational programs that engage audiences from Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties. PCSO maintains a dual performance schedule, with concerts held in both Portland and East County.
